comfort

Welcome Home

chicken soup and just made bread
greet us from the kitchen
as we brush off our coats and the cold
at the door


(in praise of my slow cooker and the bread machine
who do the work while we play)

  1. It is my humble opinion that those two appliances are some of the greatest inventions ever.

    We also use our bread maker to make pizza/calzone dough. There is something significantly better about homemade pizza. I don't know what your pizza options are in Japan, but even with our plethora of options, it's always better when we make it at home.

  2. How wonderful to find the meal mostly ready when you come through the door, and to enter a house filled with the smell of fresh baking is glorious. I need to get my bread machine on the go again.
